MAR BASELIOS SCHOOL OF NURSING

1979 – Padmasree Ms.Jothi Venkatachalam (was an Indian Politian who served as Governer of kerala and Member of legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu) laid the foundation stone of School of Nursing, Mar Baselios Medical Mission Hospital, Kothamangalam.

The Commission of the council inspected the hospital on 17.10.1980 and recommended to give permissive sanction to start a Nursing School attached to the Hospital.

School of Nursing M B M M was started in January 1981 as per order No .H 1911/1980/NC dated 17/11/1980 with an annual intake of 12 students ,

  • 1983 => 12 seat to 15 seat ( No .E2166/82/NC dated 27/12/1982)
  • 1987=> 15seat to 20 seat ( No. E.465/87/NC,dated 19/12/1987)
  • 1992=> 20 seats to 25 seats ( No H 331/91/NC dated 28.1.1992)
  • 1994=> 25 Seats to 35 seats (No.H 904/94 NC dated10/11/1994)
  • 2005=>35 seats to 40 seats (No.H 98/02/oct 2004 dated 17/03/2005)
  • Our seat strength at present 40 numbers

FACILITIES

Library
More than 4000 different subject titled Nursing books in the multiple editions, Kinds of Nursing journals ,news papers and other kinds of current health related literatures are available in the library .It should have comfortable seating arrangements for half of the total strength of the students and teachers in the school .
Hostel Facilities
Well furnished hostel rooms ,toilet and bathroom facilities provided ,Recreation ,visitors room, kitchen ,dining hall, hot water facilities ,washing and ironing space, telephone facilities ,canteen is available.
Common Rooms
Common rooms are provided for teaching faculty and students . Toilet and hand washing Facilities are made available in each room
Multi purpose Hall
It can be utilized for hosting functions of the school of Nursing / college of Nursing ,Educational conference /works shop, CNES Examinations etc..
Audio visual Aids Room & Store
This room are provided for the proper and safe storage of all the Audio – Visual Aids
Garge
Garge is available ,accommodate a 45 seater vehicle
Play Ground
Play ground is available for outdoor games
